Register and Pay for the online self-paced Pre-Licensing course. This can be done by faxing, mailing, or emailing the registration form or completing an online registration (registration forms may be used for some entities referring students and giving them a discount code as to track and provide partnering agencies a service from NKREC).
-
Receive a login Username and Password through email and log into www.nkrec.com/school
-
Complete the 24 modules, project, and final exam within 6 months from start date. Only the first module of assignment, video, resources, forum, and quiz is available until all portions are complete to be able to move onto the second module.
NOTE: Events, announcements, open discussions, instructor LIVE online times, and more will be posted in the right hand column of the Learning Management System as you are taking the course. Please feel free to participate in any and all activities. Grades, Personal Profile, and Settings can be accessed in the left hand column at any point in time during your session.

It is suggested at this point in time student’s file a FBI criminal background check with the local authorities to give enough time for this process to be completed. More information can be found about this at www.krec.ky.gov or download the PDF at http://www.krec.ky.gov/krec.gov/download.asp?file=crim_check_info.pdf
-
After completing the 24 modules and downloading the project choice outlines students need to complete one of the projects and fax, email, mail, or upload the completed project sheet to their account.
-
At this point a student will need to contact the instructor/administrator to schedule a proctored exam at one of our three locations in the state of Kentucky (refer to proctored exam guidelines).
-
Exam will be taken and checked and if a passing rate is received a certificate and transcript will be mailed to the student.
-
Student then needs to register with PearsonVue to take the Kentucky State Exam. More information about this process can be found at www.krec.ky.gov and www.pearsonvue.com
